The Roller Shutter Lintel System
All RSL lintels are supplied fully insulated with expanded polystyrene and for building purposes can be treated as part of the window or wall area. Insulation extends along the full length of the lintel, leaving no potential ‘cold spots’. In addition to great security, the shutters also give enhanced thermal insulation, providing the equivalent of triple glazing when in use. Additionally if a room is unoccupied the shutters can be left down thus saving unwanted heat loss. Heat loss is reduced particularly at night when temperature differentials are at their greatest. RSL shutters are manufactured from polyester coated double wall aluminium-slats - enabling them to withstand severe impact. The shutters roll from the lintel component and are self guided within the integral cavity closer so when the shutters are down there are no exposed edges or guides - a common weak point on other shutter systems. Secured by Design, the Police Authority security standard has been awarded to RSL for its system ensuring that by specifying RSL you meet all the necessary design standards. Manufactured from polyester coated double wall aluminium slats, the shutter is capable of withstanding severe impact in test conditions.

The unique double wall extruded slat gives the equivalent of an additional pane of glass thus when activated thermal performance is increased signifi cantly at the vulnerable window areas – up to a 50% improvement in heat saving.
